DEHR (pronounced as DUR) is a sub-committee of ATA Local 21: Elk Island Catholic. DEHR stands for Diversity, Equity, and Human Rights. These topics focus on things that are vitally important in the 21’st Century classroom–we have many things happening–all sorts of families, all sorts of students. Each of them with a unique and important story. The DEHR committee’s job is to help teachers within our local to BEST meet the needs of all of our students and help teachers with language and tools and resources to circumnavigate the ever-changing Education.
Topics that DEHR focuses on (though not limited to) are…
- Special Needs
- Human Rights
- ELL and ESL
- MANY more
We at the DEHR Committee believe in living this to the fullest:
“It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
